COMMUNITY
OUTREACH One aspect of the Seneca Valley Education Association's mission is open communication and honest dialogue with community members in the Seneca Valley School District. To that end, we have formed a Community Outreach program. Our Community Outreach program consists of teams of three teachers who have been invited into community members' homes for honest dialogue concerning the strike, the teachers' position on current contract negotiations (or lack thereof), and the issues that remain on the bargaining table. We ask that our community hosts invite no more than ten to twelve neighbors and friends for this meeting. We are not reluctant to tackle the tough questions, but please understand that no one can communicate openly in a hostile environment. For that reason, we would ask that our hosts invite only those people who have an open mind and who are willing to really listen to what we have to say rather than to attack us for our views. If you are willing to host such a meeting, we welcome the opportunity to address these issues. Please email us at meeting@svteachers.com for further information. |
