The human brain focuses on survival.  Keeping us alive so that we can pass along our genetic material is the main objective.  

Some of the basic questions the brain asks include: Can I eat it?  Will it eat me?  Can I mate with it?  Is there danger here?

Knowing this information can help us design PowerPoint presentations that engage the brains of our students.
